Marriage Counseling Advice
Welcome to my brand new blog that I have setup to discuss strategies on saving your marriage. I've just recently been through the whole counseling experience and it was extremely painful to confront some of the issues that I brought to our realtionship. Its primarily for this reason that I have setup this site. To help you and lend an ear to your problems and concerns.
My marriage problems started some two years ago and ultimately culminated on use getting VERY close to a divorce, before we managed to put the pieces together again. It was NOT an easy processand it required me to look inward and discover the basics of what made me who I am.
After analysing my behaviour, I came to understand that there are many things that I was doing that caused daily damage to our relationship. Basically, I was myown worst enemy!
So i reconciled to make some changes to way that I intereacted with my spouse and its amazing the goodwill that one small change can create. It certainly wasnt an overnight success story...butafter approximately 6months of HARD work we are much better at understanding each others needs and wants and responding to them. This is the basics of a loving relationship but is sooo often overlooked.
Counseling certaily helped but I found, as a man, that I was unable to open up to some stranger about our most intimate of problems. This became a real issue with marriage counseling because I could not accept the advice that was coming to me...I really had to discover it for myself.
Luckily, a friend had directed me to a range of self help books that helped me understand the problems that we were having. I read these with an open mind and this was start of the learning process...the first step towards healing if you like.
I'm more than happy to share my reading list with the weebly community if anyone is interested. One book that REALLY helpedme fix some of the major issues was:

Ultimately, its up to you to take the first step...but whatever you do,do it with an open mind and NEVER giveup!
Cheers
